FAQ
Common questions
Does ChronicOS diagnose or replace a doctor?
No. It organizes your logs and helps prepare material for a visit. It is not a medical device and does not replace a gastroenterologist.
Does the app work offline?
Yes — diary, meds, labs, Analysis, and the PDF report work on your phone. Internet is needed for the toilet map (OpenStreetMap), optional cloud sync, and sending feedback by email.
How does Analysis work?
It looks at your logs: pain trends, harder periods, meal traits that co-occur with worse days, and before/after windows around a medication start. Observations from your data — not a diagnosis or advice to change treatment.
How do I switch phones without losing data?
More → Export backup (JSON to Files / iCloud). On the new phone: Restore backup. Or enable an account and EU cloud sync — then data returns after sign-in.
Where is my data?
Primarily on your phone. After an account and consent, you can enable sync to the EU cloud (Supabase) — data is tied to your account (not anonymized). Analytics and crash logs don’t include diary contents. Details: Privacy policy.
How do I delete my data?
Locally: More → Delete local data or uninstall. Cloud account: More → Account → Delete cloud account. Details: https://chronicos.app/en/delete-account — or email kontakt@chronicos.app.
How do I export a report for my doctor?
More → Doctor report (or the shortcut on Signal). Pick a period (e.g. 30 days, this year, custom), preview the summary, and share the PDF. Conversation material, not a medical document.
How does the toilet map work?
On Signal, open “Nearby toilets” (or the shortcut when today’s check-in notes stronger urgency). You’ll see places nearby, distance, and basic details; “Navigate” opens maps on your phone. Location is only used to find what’s around you and is not sent to your ChronicOS account. We don’t guarantee a specific toilet will be available.
What does a “harder day” mean?
A label from your logs — e.g. high pain, blood, or strong urgency. It’s for trends. Not a flare diagnosis.
Does analysis tell me what not to eat?
No. It shows which meal traits appear more often with pain (same day or 24–48 hours later). A data hypothesis to discuss with your doctor — not a diet.
How does the PDF report work?
More → Doctor report (or Signal shortcut). Pick a period, review average pain and energy, harder days, comparison with the previous period, labs, meds, food observations, and visit questions. Then share the PDF. Sample report .
How do I add a visit, a planned lab, or another date?
In More → Calendar you add a visit, a planned lab (e.g. calprotectin), or another date. The nearest visit shows on Signal. Three days before a visit we’ll remind you about the PDF report, the day before a lab about the appointment. That is not advice to get tests done. You can add a single event to the calendar on your phone, without automatic sync.
